Mental health first aid training

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a training course which teaches people how to identify, understand and help someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue.

It will help attendees to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis – and even potentially prevent a crisis from happening.

Attendees will learn to recognise warning signs of ill mental health and develop the skills and confidence to approach and support someone while keeping yourself safe.

Those who wish to support others with their mental health and guide them to appropriate sources of professional support.

Course Objectives

• Provides an in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect well-being
• Gain practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
• Empower confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
• Enhance interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
• Provide knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support

Duration
1/2 day course: Mental Health Awareness
1 day course: Mental Health Champion
2 day course: Mental Health First Aider
