A structured offer for authorities supporting more sensitive or higher risk situations, combining workforce development with direct support for care experienced people.
With scrutiny increasing, investing in staff capability and supported, trauma informed processes is one of the most effective ways to improve practice, reduce delays, and ensure care leavers are treated with dignity and care. |

Some A2R Guides are qualified Social Workers and are available on request. These may be useful for more complex situations.

- Specialist one to one guided Access to Records support for care leavers who would benefit from additional, personalised support through the process (includes up to 20 hours of support) with our care experienced guide.
- Access to facilitated online A2R peer and reflective support group sessions for care leavers available throughout the year.
- Access to Records training for one staff member from your organisation.
- Additional staff places on the Access to Records training can be booked at a reduced rate.
- Care Leaver will be entitled to one year of our Ask Jan Membership which offers a wide range of counselling and advice services.
All of our A2R guides are:
- Care experienced through lived experience and/or care experienced through profession
- Experienced in supporting care experienced people
- Understand the legal framework
- Understand the accessing records / redaction process
- Understand the emotional impact of accessing records
- Have telephone / virtual counselling skills
- Have an ability to keep professional boundaries
- Have Safeguarding knowledge
- Understand the care system, leaving care and language
- Have personal resilience
