Organisation: TACT London Central Panel Venue for panel meetings (Virtual/face to face): Virtual with one face to face training (usually in central London) Frequency of panel meetings: once a month – last Wednesday of the month – occasionally an additional panel if a lot of business. Additional opportunities to become involved with our Children in Care Council. If you are interested in being linked to this opportunity contact us or 0330 094 5645 Organisation: Derby City Council Venue for panel meetings (Virtual / Face to face): Panels are face to face and the panel meetings take place where the fostering service is based close to the city centre. There is the possibility that panel meetings may relocate to the council house in the city centre next year. Frequency of panel meetings: : Twice monthly on the first and third Tuesday. Minimum attendance would be one panel per month. Panel Member Fee: £150 for a full day 9.30-4.30. £75 for a half day 9.30 to 1.30pm, plus travel expenses within a reasonable distance to Derby. Location and travel arrangements should be considered as practicable by the applicant. Any additional opportunities: The fostering service invite our panel members to relevant training and jointly held workshops with the fostering service. Panel members have access via the LA membership to The Fostering Network and Research in Practice web site for self-directed learning. If you are interested in being linked to this opportunity contact us or 0330 094 5645 Organisation: Foster Wales Cardiff (Cardiff Local Authority) Venue for panel meetings (Virtual / Face to face): Currently Panel is virtual via Teams. However we have a hybrid process in place as there maybe occasions when face to face needed - this would be planned. Frequency of panel meetings: Wednesday weekly usually, currently generally starting at 9.30 a.m. Length of Panel vary week to week on the number of cases presented. One week is Connected Person Panel and the following week Mainstream Panel alternating. We are currently trying to recruit a number of Central List Panel members so it may not be a weekly requirement as there will be a central list of Panel members we may draw upon. Panel Member Fee: £20 per hour Panel reading time and £20 per hour for attendance Panel. Invoices need to be submitted weekly as appropriate. We monitor invoices as although we appreciate that people have differing reading speeds we need to ensure that there is general consistency among those attending panel for fee claimed. Any additional opportunities: We provide a minimum of an Annual Panel Training/ Development day. Training varies from online to face to face e.g. next day is face to face as onboarding new members. It would be expected that any one who becomes part of our Central List is committed to ongoing learning and development in the role if they are recruited. We have a recruitment process we follow for all potential panel members. Annual Appraisal which is an opportunity for both the panel member, the chair, and Panel Advisor/s to reflect on the contribution from the panel member to the work of foster panel, any support needs identified and any suggestions for change to the running of panel.
